Technical Product Manager

Dish Care Division

New Bern, NC / Full-time

Your responsibilities

* Interface and coordination between Product Marketing, Product Development, Project Management, Industrial Design, Factory, Project Controlling and Product
Management in Munich.
* Support the Director of Product Management in the successful preparation of product strategy, road-mapping, and innovations management including alignment of the US roadmap with the global roadmap.
* Prepare project applications for new product projects (PARs)
* Present new product ideas and concepts to upper management by using strong presentation and negotiation skills.
* Coordinate product program definition and product specifications (x-list) for all relevant US dishwasher products (domestic and export) in close coordination with Marketing and Development.
* Clarify timelines, feature sets, resources needed, cost targets and sales start for product projects.
* Maintenance of appliance master product data within BSH systems (SAP-CMD-AP).
* Preparation of product front shots and line drawings for web sites, catalogues and installation instructions.
* Coordinate Variant Applications (VAs) and project calculations for ongoing product projects.
* Ongoing variant controlling as well as phase-in/ phase-out coordination within the BSH production systems including the monitoring of the sales status in CMD-AP.
* Operationally responsibility for the OEM business / Project Management of OEM projects for products produced in North America.
* Prepare training for sales team with product training, argumentation points, and other relevant sales information.
* Tracking of product development milestones (timing, costs, targets) during projects prior to approval of the project application.
* Preparation of project reporting for regular internal meetings (Engineering/ Marketing Workshop , Dishwasher Division, project reporting .
* Ongoing support for Marketing, Sales, Development questions and requests.
* Monitoring of competition, market trends and preparation of ideas for future product launches.
* Perform all other duties as assigned.

Your profile
* Masters Degree in Business Administration preferred.
* Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or Wirtschaftsingenieur.
* Product Marketing experience preferred
* Experience in Project Management of Product Development projects preferred
* Experience in Product Specification processes
* Experience with cost evaluation
* Must be team oriented and flexible.
* Must have good communication and negotiation skills.
* Must be able to travel internationally.
* Proficiency with Microsoft products, especially Power Point and Excel.
* SAP, MSWord and MSProject experience preferred.
* Ability to perform duties with minimal supervision, handle multiple tasks and be prompt in meeting deadlines.
* Bi-lingual (English/German) a plus.
* Must be able to work well with people in other departments under difficult and sometimes stressful circumstances.
* Knowledge of Product Development processes.

Your responsibilities

Level I, II, III Common Functions
* Assists designated Technical Development Leads in the design for systems and parts fabricated, assembled, and purchased using the PEP Development Process.
* Lead design development reviews with Designers, Manufacturing, Industrial Design, Quality, Service and Other stakeholders as needed. The reviews include concept/alternate designs, DFM/DFA, conduct FMEAs and track progress of design, and final acceptance.
* Development and creation of CAD solid models, utilizing Unigraphics, from product development knowledge and/or Design Team input.
* Development and creation of end-product drawings and specifications accurately defining requirements of design intent.
* Perform tolerance stack-up and analysis of components and assemblies, utilizing geometric tolerancing standards and practices.
* Develop or aid in developing Bill of Materials, inspection criteria, process specifications, and ECO documentation as necessary.
* Communicate effectively with Model Shop during product development in prototyping, pre-pilot, and pilot activities.
* Manage projects in order to help develop product design inputs.
* Support production with on-line troubleshooting and de-bugging during pilot and after release to production.
* Establish Lab, Application and Reliability test plans.Prepare task request, with required documentation, for work in Lab tests, Application tests and the model shop.
* Prepare cost analysis of new products.Prepare Engineering Change Orders (ECO) and track through implementation.
* Review and approve 1^st Article Reports.
* Vendor interface in specifying purchased components.
* Analyze problems, possible root causes and solutions.
* Identify Cost Reductions and implement on current products.
* Perform all other duties as assigned.

Level II, III Additional Functions
* Acts as Technical Development Lead in the design for systems and parts fabricated, assembled, and purchased using the PEP Development Process.
* Has or can easily gain a working knowledge of UL and/or CSA testing requirements for the products that are being developed.
* Project Management responsibility for assigned mid to high level activities & projects.

Your profile
* Bachelors Degree, Mechanical Engineering course study preferred.

* Basic training in software programs used in the Engineering environment; MS Office, SAP, UG NX16, and CAX Teamcenter preferred.
* Ability to handle confidential information such as Industrial Design Engineering input, New Product Specifications, Research and Development data, and specifications.
* Travel required approximately 5% of the time.

Level I, II, III Knowledge
* Good communication and organizational skills.
* Candidate must take ownership of decisions made in the performance of duties.

Level III Additional Knowledge
* Candidate will have a proven track record of Product Development experience in high-end, complex, consumer based products.

Level I Experience
* One (1) year design experience in a high quality manufacturing environment, or recent graduate from an approved institution.

Level II Experience
* Five (5) + years of product development experience in a high quality manufacturing environment.

Level III Experience
* Ten (10)+ years product development experience in a high quality manufacturing environment.
* Any of the above requirements/qualifications may be waived for the successful candidate.
